If You've Taken Antibiotics Recently, You Need to Read This

It is likely you have a candida overgrowth due to Antibiotic use!
Roughly 60% of the population has candida overgrowth and do not know it. Knowledge is power, so here we go.
Candida albicans is a specific strain of yeast that lives in the intestinal tract of every human; it can become very problematic when it is overgrown in the intestines. Candida will grow out of balance after treatment of antibiotics or eating meats that are treated with antibiotics. Antibiotics kill bacteria—both the good and the bad that live in our gut (small intestine). So whenever antibiotics are used, we need to repopulate the intestinal flora with good bacteria (probiotics).
How do I know if I have it?
Blood, stool, or saliva lab tests can tell if you have candida. But there is also a free, at-home, spit test that is quite accurate (it was also featured on The Dr. Oz Show).
To do the spit test, it’s as simple as this: For six days in a row (every day you will do this), before you go to bed, fill a glass halfway with room-temperature water. Then when you wake the next morning (before you brush your teeth or eat or drink anything), work up a dime-sized amount of saliva and spit it into the glass. Check it three times over the course of forty-five minutes to see if your saliva sinks to the bottom, stays floating on top, or if it grows legs (tails that reach down the glass). If it sinks or grows legs, then you can suspect that yeast is overgrowing in your system. Don’t be freaked out, there is a way to get rid of it.
How Do I Kill The Candida?
You will follow a two-step process: diet & supplements. To eliminate candida overgrowth, you must starve it with a special diet, and then kill it with anti-fungal supplements.
Eliminate all yeast, alcohol, gluten, sugar, white flour, fermented foods and drinks, and most fruit. Complex carbohydrates such as gluten-free grains, legumes, and root vegetables are allowed, but in limited quantities. Focus on non-starchy vegetables, organic & grass fed animal proteins, and healthy fats including avocado, butter, and coconut oil. You will eat this way for six to eight weeks. After the six weeks, you will do the spit test again for another six days in a row to see if you still have the Candida or if it has been eliminated. If it has not been eliminated, continue on with the purge for another 4 weeks. After 10 weeks, you will test again.
Supplements Needed to Kill The Cadida
- Food-grade diatomaceous earth, these old tiny fossils don’t harm the human body, but act like razor blades to the exoskeleton of the candida breaking it open to allow the antifungals to kill the candida.
- Bentonite clay (in a lot of water) carries the shell out of the body.
- Antifungals, such as grapefruit seed extract, Pau D’arco, oregano oil, and olive leaf extract kill the candida. You will use one for four days then switch to another for four days, continuing this for the duration of the purge.
What To Do When Antibiotics Are Needed (Adults & Kids)
Once you have taken the antibiotics, you should start an immune system rebuilding protocol and continue for three weeks.
For 3 weeks: Take a high-quality multi-strain probiotic.
For 2 weeks, take and eat anti-fungals. Eat lots of oregano and garlic with your meals (see recipes below). Then add pau D'arco, grapefruit seed extract, and olive leaf extract.
*Kids can take the mentioned supplements and herbs. Ask your pediatrician what amounts are recommended for your child.
How to Prevent Candida From Returning
To keep candida at bay, eliminate refined sugars and keep alcohol to a minimum. Supplement with a good multi-strain probiotic if and when you consume sugars, alcohol, or fermented foods. Regularly eat fresh garlic and oregano (recipe below). Drink Pau D’arco tea, it can do wonders for the immune system. Regularly drinking bone broth (recipe below) or adding a high-quality gelatin powder to your smoothie on occasion can help to strengthen the lining of the intestinal wall.
Oregano & Garlic Pesto
Prep time: 10 minutes Makes about 1 cup
1 bunch fresh cilantro, washed and dried, ends clipped
2 tablespoons fresh oregano
1 lime, juiced
3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
sea salt to taste
Blend all ingredients together. Use as a thicker salad dressing, a dip for vegetables, or as a topping for chicken or fish AFTER it has been cooked.
Prep and cook time: 12-24 hours Makes 6-8 cups
5 pounds organic raw chicken bones,* rinsed and cleaned
2 tablespoons raw apple cider vinegar
¼ teaspoon Celtic or pink salt
herbs and spices to taste, such as basil, oregano, and/or cayenne
Mix all ingredients in a slow cooker filled with purified water. Turn on low and cook for 12-24 hours. (This slow process draws the minerals out of the bones, making it pure medicine for immunity and gastrointestinal strengthening.) After cooking, strain fat and solids and save broth. Use broth for cooking soups, beans, or just drink it straight.
*Ask your grocer for the chicken bones. Be sure to ask for the feet & neck bones, as well, since that is where collagen is found. Collagen is helpful for protein synthesis and is nourishing to your skin, hair, and nails.
